Welcome to Visual Arts at Jonesboro Middle School!

In the JMS Visual Arts classroom, students in all grade levels will explore a wide range of artistic techniques and materials—including collage, drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Whether it’s your first year in art or you’ve taken it before, this is a space for creativity, experimentation, and growth.

Art is like any other skill—it takes time, practice, and patience. You don’t need to be a "natural" to succeed here; what matters most is effort and an open mind. Not every project will be your favorite, but trying new things helps you discover your unique artistic voice.

In this class, students are expected to try their best, work independently, and use materials safely and responsibly. Along the way, you’ll develop not just artistic skills, but confidence, problem-solving abilities, and a greater appreciation for the creative process.
